ULB elections: GBs appeals to uphold spirit of Clean Election

Dimapur, May 24 (MExN): With the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections drawing closer, the GB Union Dimapur (Sadar), in a press communiqué, has appealed to all the intending candidates to preserve and uphold the spirit of the Clean Election Movement.
Simultaneously, the union expressed opposition to inter-ward proxy vote casting, intimidation, exertion of muscle power and the temptation by monetary incentives. It also issued a stern warning against any individual or group seeking to sow discord and division among the various tribes and communities within the Dimapur Sadar area. It asserted that the union will collaborate with the district administration and law enforcement agencies to coordinate efforts and ensuring that the ULB elections in all the 23 wards of the Dimapur Municipal Council are conducted freely, fairly and peacefully.
