DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 8 (MExN): Advisor for Tribal Affairs and Election, H Tovihoto Ayemi on Thursday informed that the election to the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) will be held right after the Lok Sabha elections is over. He mentioned that the government is ready to conduct the election but as the Parliamentary election is just around the corner, it will be conducted right after that. Speaking on the sidelines at the function held at Nili Motors, Dimapur, the Advisor said that the possibility of seat-sharing between the NDPP and BJP has still not been worked out yet but more than likely it will go in accordance with the alliance.
In other matters concerning the power supply issue, the former Advisor for Power noted that it has been a recurring issue especially during this time of the month. In spite of this, the government is making sure to provide regular power supply especially in concern to the upcoming HSLC and HSSLC examinations, he said. On being questioned about the Foothill project, the Advisor said the State government has been consistently appealing to the Centre to construct the foothill road and the response has been positive thus far. The Government of India is taking its own time however they have understood the seriousness and necessity of the project (foothill road), he added.
