Mokokchung, December 11 (MExN): The 7th edition of the Under 15 men football trophy 2017 organized by the Marep Royals got underway at Marepkong ward, Mokokchung.
Altogether 35 teams from in and around Mokokchung are participating in the tournament. Along with three individual prizes—best goal keeper, highest goal scorer and best player, the organizers gives a special award which is the ‘Academic scholarship.’
The organizers scrutinise and choose the most promising player and award him with an academic scholarship for the annual year 2018.
The organisers have been sponsoring the academic scholarship since the inception of the tournament and they hope that this initiative will encourage more youngsters to excel academically and also in the sports field.
