
Dimapur, July 15 (MExN): Peace Channel Institute of Skill Development and Training observed its Graduation Day on July 14, 2012. This was informed in a press note issued by Peace Channel Desk.
While addressing the graduation day of DB tech trainees of Peace Channel Institute of skill Development and Training, the chief guest, Rev.Fr. Chacko K. the Parish priest, Dimapur said that it is the unemployability of our youth which has to be addressed rather than the unemployment itself. Having assessed the present scenario of youth and their abject condition of the unemployment, he appreciated the noble initiative of the Peace Channel in capacitating and training the unemployed youth to be competent teachers, modern office managers and to serve in the Hospitality sectors. The three months crash training has enabled and prepared our youth to be employable, he said.
As he was addressing the parents and the trainees of Peace Channel, he also appreciated the parents for sending their daughters and sons to grab this golden opportunity to get trained and to be employed soon after the training. He also congratulated the trainees for completing the course successfully and getting placement for job.
Dr.Toshinaro Longchar, the guest of honor of the programme also appreciated the initiative of the organization and said was very happy to be part of the joyous moment. She stressed on the dignity of labour. “The issue of unemployment can be solved when our youth are prepared and motivated to take up any job available,” she opined. She also shared her life experience while doing her doctoral studies in Ireland, as a part time employee one of the institutions over there. As she was presenting the socio political and economic situations of Nagaland, she said that our youth need to be trained in many skills and many more such institutions need to be evolved and supported to compact unemployment in our society.
Rev.Fr. C.P.Anto Director Peace Channel, in his message exhorted the richness of our youth in Nagaland and the hope employment of our youth in service sector. He also said that all the 65 unemployed youth who had under gone the training most of them are placed and other s will be placed shortly in to various institutions. While addressing he said that we need to dream and the dream needs to be supported by our well wishers. If we have only dream and it’s not supported we can reach nowhere in future. If NGO’s and the Government could work hand in hand, the serious issue of unemployment can be easily handled and can make our Nagaland much more a better place to live in. He also said that the next batch for trainee’s admission is open and the training is completely free of cost.
