Dimapur, January 8 (MExN): The Dimapur Police has stated that on January 7, at around 1720 hrs, an unidentified dead body was found 40 meters away from East Police Station, outside the wall of Indian Post office, Dimapur. Accordingly, the duty party rushed to the PO site and found one dead body, male aged around 50-55 yrs. (approx). Inquest conducted over the dead body which was witnessed by two independent witnesses. No bodily injuries were found on the dead body and the cause of dead is highly suspected due to illness, Dy Commissioner of Police (Crime) & PRO, Dimapur stated in a press release.
According to the witnesses, he is suspected to be a homeless beggar. On completion of all legal formalities the dead body has been shifted to District Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination and identification, it stated. The deceased was wearing green jacket, white sweater, black checked sweater, white T-shirt and black pant.
