UNIDO in collaboration with Government of Nagaland and facilitated by Thinkthrough Consulting Pvt Ltd, New Delhi is organizing capacity building workshop at Kohima from November 14 to 16.
Kohima, November 14 (MExN): The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in collaboration with the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland (GoN), facilitated by Thinkthrough Consulting Pvt Ltd, New Delhi is organizing three-day capacity building workshop at Kohima for policy makers from different departments of the Government of Nagaland involved in supporting identified thrust industrial sectors.
The programme scheduled from November 14 to 16 aims to emphasize the importance of an evidence-based policy making process towards arriving at an enabling framework for inclusive and sustainable industrial development most appropriate to the State.
Government officials from 16 line departments and agencies associated with industrial development in Nagaland are participating in the programme, stated a press release issued by Y Lipongse Thongtsar, Joint Director (Adm), Directorate of Industries and Commerce, GoN.
Dr Rene Van Berkel, UNIDO representative and Head, Regional Office in India set the context for the capacity building and training, highlighting the importance nurturing industries most appropriate to Nagaland. Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Khekhrievor Kevichusa, IPoS gave the inaugural address.
Parul Soni from Thinkthrough Consulting appreciated the State’s efforts and UNIDO support in complementing these efforts. International experts from UNIDO, Dr Anders Isaksson, Chief Capacity Development and Policy Advice Unit and Christoph Hammer, Expert in Industrial Policy, are delivering hands-on and highly-interactive sessions leveraging UNIDO’s tools on ‘Enhancing the Quality of Industrial Policy (EQuIP)’ during the programme.
