Tuensang, December 19 (MExN): The DC Mechanical Colony Union (DCMCU), Old Medical ‘B' Tuensang Town has condemned the “provocative act” of the 40 Assam Rifles in raiding the residence of former vice chairman of Tuensang Town Council, Kiumuhean and apprehending him on “false allegation” on December 11.
A press release from DCMCU president, Rothrong and chairman, Thsarangse Sangtam termed the act “a deliberate attempt to defame a bonafide and peace loving resident of the colony.” The union also refuted the report where the AR personnel claimed to have raided the house on receipt of specific intelligence along with police personnel. It said that no police personnel were involved in the raid, nor any colony members were intimated.
The union questioned the AR personnel “if the detained was a terrorist or a wanted criminal, necessitating such severe action of the AR surreptitiously raiding the residence without even a police guide.”
DCMCU also questioned the AR personnel not to make hasty judgment “for it is unto them we look upon for protection and not make us feel intimidated at their sight, for such action of the AR is not applicable in this civilized society.” The union called upon all the right thinking and peace loving citizens to condemn such unprecedented act.
