Union Fisheries Minister inaugurates Vet Clinical Complex and girl’s hostel

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 10 (MExN): Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Giriraj Singh on his maiden visit to the State of Nagaland inaugurated the girls hostel and the State of the Art Veterinary Clinical Complex at College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie.
In his speech, the Union Minister conveyed his happiness over the completion of the girls hostel and was impressed with the facilities in the Veterinary Clinical Complex. He appreciated the students for the cultural show.
Singh told the scientists to explore the possibility of vermi composting with Mithun dung and which in turn can be fed to the poultry and to popularise zero cost poultry for production of no-cost protein-rich egg and meat.
R Khing, Advisor, appreciated the Dean, Capt. GD Rao and the various activities of the students and explained the support that is being extended to the college.
Professor M Premjit Singh, Vice Chancellor in his welcome address briefed the Union Minister about the activities of the Central Agricultural University.
In his vote of thanks, the Dean Dr Capt G Dhanan Jaya Rao expressed gratitude to the State Government especially Veterinary Department for the moral support to the college administration. Rao also thanked the Nagaland State Transport for allotting one bus for the students. He further mentioned that the Livestock Farm Complex is maintaining indigenous breeds of cattle such as Manipuri and as well as Tenyi Vo pigs as per the policy of ‘Conservation and Preservation of Indigenous Breeds’ and that the College of Veterinary Sciences, Jalukie is the only Veterinary College in India having Mithun.
