Union Minister agrees to organize  mega skill & career fair in Nagaland

Dimapur, May 6 (MExN): As part of the three-day visit to Nagaland, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship visited YouthNet Centre at Dimapur on May 5. 

During the interaction, the Union Minister “agreed for organizing a one of a kind mega skill, job & career fair in Nagaland,” media cell of YouthNet stated in a press release. He appreciated YouthNet for its contribution in skilling the youths and playing a key role in addressing the skill gap and employment issue in Nagaland. 

He encouraged YouthNet in identifying and mentoring one ‘Role Model’ entrepreneur from all the districts across Nagaland in the handloom, handicrafts and food processing sector. The Union Minister has been closely associated with YouthNet for the past 10 years and instrumental in supporting and promoting entrepreneurship in Nagaland through its program ‘Impact 5000 by 18’, the release stated.

Highlighting the various programmes and initiatives being implemented by YouthNet in the areas of skill development, livelihood & employment and entrepreneurship, Founder of YouthNet, Hekani Jakhalu Kense appealed to the Minister of State for introducing integrated and common platforms for Training Providers (TP) across Nagaland so the youth can have easier access to various skill and career options and opportunities. The Union MoS was accompanied by Mmhonlumo Kikon, Advisor, IT, Science & Technology, NRE, Imnatiba, Advisor, Industries and Commerce, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland and officials from the State Department.
