Dimapur, June 20 (MExN): Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Science, Harsh Vardhan has assured central assistance to Nagaland for the development of science and technology besides providing Science Exhibition Bus and setting up of mini Science Centres.
The Union Minister made verbal assurance to the State Parliamentary Secretary of Jail and Science & Technology, S Hukavi Zhimomi, who called on him on June 20 at the former’s office in North Block, New Delhi.
The Parliamentary Secretary apprised the Union Minister that state like Nagaland is in urgent need of modern technology to keep pace with the fast changing world. He further highlighted that Science and Technology department in the State is facing lot of hardship due to lack of manpower and proper project.
Besides, the Parliamentary Secretary urged upon the Union Minister to depute few renowned scientists to assist the Department of Science and Technology in the State. He also requested Vardhan to approve few projects which were submitted to him during the latter’s maiden visit to the State.
The Union Minister assured the State Parliamentary Secretary to take up all cases positively and to render Centre's assistance in every possible way, according to a press release received here.
