Union Minister Bhupender Yadav visits oil palm field in Ngwalwa

Peren, August 25 (MExN): Union Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, and Employment for the Government of India, Bhupender Yadav undertook a visit to the oil palm field in Ngwalwa, Peren district on August 25.

During his visit, he engaged with the village council, interacting on several crucial topics, a DIPR report stated. 

The Minister inquired about the status of the Jal Jeevan Mission, particularly whether the villagers had gained access to water tap connections. Additionally, he discussed the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), a flagship scheme aiming to provide clean cooking LPG gas to rural Below Poverty Line (BPL) households.

The Ngwalwa village council apprised the Minister that every household within their jurisdiction has been successfully connected to these initiatives. They also shared information about their village's progress, including the registration of 632 job cards, development projects such as Approach Road and Fishery, as well as extensive tree plantation efforts.

‘Peren district holds immense value’ 
The Department of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change of the Government of Nagaland orchestrated an interactive session with senior officers during the visit of the Union Minister Bhupender Yadav. The event took place at the Jalukie Range Office on August 24.

The session was hosted by CL John, Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change of the Government of Nagaland.

In his speech, Minister Bhupender Yadav highlighted that Peren district holds immense value as a vital part of the country, enriched with cultural heritage and warm hospitality. He emphasized the role of self-help groups in expediting the economic development of both the district and the state. He stated that the activities of self-help groups can significantly contribute to elevating the economic status in society, leading to holistic development. 

During an outdoor session, Minister Yadav inaugurated a public park cum botanical garden and visited stalls hosted by self-help groups. He interacted with the members of these groups who shared their experiences in managing their livelihoods. 

The launch of the King Chilli Cluster product, a creation of the self-help groups, and the freshly Wokha were also celebrated on this occasion. The event featured the release of the Doyang Wetland Compendium and interactive posters showcasing birds of Nagaland. The Tokhu Emong bird count initiative was also inaugurated.

In a meeting with Heads of Offices in Peren district, Minister Bhupender Yadav encouraged the district officers to identify opportunities and bridge gaps, ensuring the outreach of government initiatives to the people.
