Kohima, October 29 (MExN): Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Government of India, Kapil Moreshwar Patil inaugurated the Farmer’s Market at T Khel Model Village, Kohima on October 29 in the presence of Minister for Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir and other officials.
A DIPR report stated that the Farmer’s Market is a wayside amenity that sells both organic produce and handicrafts and also has a restaurant to cater to tourists. The market is meant to meet the requirements of the villagers for market linkage issues by gathering organic products of farmers of Nagaland so as to create opportunities for the Self Help Groups, the BLOs of NSRLM and farmers of T Khel village. It will serve as a platform for the state's farmers to generate revenue.
The Minister also visited the Kohima War Cemetery on Friday.
