Dimapur, June 25 (MExN): Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar will be on a two-day visit to Nagaland on June 26 and 27.
The Union Minister is expected to arrive at the Dimapur Airport on June 26 at 12:45 pm, stated a DIOR report. During the visit, he will pay a field visit of CIH campus and inaugurate farmers' exhibition cum workshop. He will also visit National Research Center for Mithun (ICAR) and also visit Pineapple farm at Molvom Village under MOVCD- NER on the first day. Cultural and musical evening with dinner in honour of the Union Minister will be organised at Niathu conference Hall in the evening.
On June 27, the Union Minister will visit Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency, Nagaland Honey and Bee keeping Mission where he will inaugurate the Honey Laboratory.
Later, he will visit the Organic AC Market, North East Agri Expo and attend the official function at Angh House, Agri Expo.
In connection with the visit, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Nagaland, Y Kikheto Sema, IAS convened a meeting on June 25. Representatives from Agri Allied departments, District Administration, Police, CEO, NSAMB and media represented by DPRO Dimapur were briefed on the protocols and logistic arrangements.
Kikheto informed that despite short notice, Agri and Allied departments are all set to welcome the Union Minister in a befitting manner. He further informed that invitation cards has been sent across to all the Ministers, Advisors and other officials and requested them to be part of the cultural programme and dinner at Niathu.
