Union Minister visits project under SANKALP at Dimapur

Dimapur, September 18 (MExN): Union Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Electronics & Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrashekhar, visited the Mongken apparel and garment production and training unit which is a convergence project under SANKALP, Ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship government of India, in Dimapur on September 18.

During an interaction with the officials, Additional Director DUDA, Anungla Phom highlighted how Mongken brand was initiated by the department of underdeveloped areas to create economic opportunities for local designers, artisans and craftsmen from Nagaland. She also informed about the establishment of Anghya market linkage hub in 2019 in all four district headquarters of eastern Nagaland to maximize the income generation in rural areas.

The Minister also commented on importance of traditional crafts supported with skill and technology to make commercially successful and assured all possible help, as per a DIPR report.
