Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, visited the historic Kachari Ruins and Durga Mandir in Dimapur on February 22, a DIPR update informed.
At the Kachari Ruins, she was received by members of the Kachari Rajbari Preservation Committee, who briefed her on the historical significance of the Dimasa Kachari heritage site, including the unique mushroom-shaped monoliths, and emphasized the need for ongoing preservation.
Bambhaniya lauded the committee’s efforts in safeguarding the monument and stressed the importance of protecting cultural heritage for future generations. She also interacted with officials present and expressed admiration for the legacy of the Dimasa Kingdom reflected in the ruins.
The Minister later visited Durga Mandir, offered prayers to Maa Durga, and appreciated the devotion of the devotees. She subsequently proceeded to the airport for her departure.
