
Dimapur, May 29 (MExN): Responding to the life attempt on the retired registrar of Co-operative society, Nagaland, Imtila Jamir, on May 27 at her residence in Kohima, the Langpangkong Senso Telongjem Kohima (LSTK) and the Ao Union, Dimapur (ASTD) have condemned the incident.
The LSTK in a condemnation note stated: “Such a cowardice and inhuman act not sparing even a woman in our Naga society. The Union appeals to concerned authority to do justice at the earliest and book the culprit and punish as per the laws.”
Also, the ASTD in its condemnation note stated that at a time like this, when every individual, tribe and church are working hard in pursuing peace in our beloved motherland, such thoughtless act threatens the selfless effort of peace loving citizen and tantamount to insulting Naga peoples’ effort of cultivating culture of peaceful co-existence in Naga society. “While expressing solidarity and appreciation to all the concerned organizations, who raised to the occasion in condemning such inhuman act particularly against the responsible and innocent woman, we also felt that the concerned village, tribe and organization of the alleged miscreants must also view the situation with seriousness and give extra effort to assist the law enforcing agency to arrest the culprits so as to let our land and its people live in peace as we longed for,” it stated.
