DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): Chümoukedima Gorkha Union organized an open penalty shootout on October 7 as a fundraiser event for the Union’s Silver Jubilee celebration.

United Brothers emerged as the winner while Gorkha Panthers Chümoukedima FC secured the runner-up position. Meivi Venuh from United Brothers was also awarded the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.

The event saw an overwhelming participation from neighboring towns and villages where a total of 16 teams participated.

Kezhalelhou Shuya, Vitouto Koutsu, Dr Kuzonyi Wideo ADC & Administrator, Chümoukedima Town Council were the well wishers of the event and sponsored various prizes.

Earlier, gracing the function as the guest of honour, Deepak Chettri, former president Rotary Club Dimapur exhorted that success is never by chance and called upon the youth to stay committed and work hard to excel in life.

B.B Chetri, Principal North Town Hr. Sec. School Chümoukedima graced the function as chief guest. In his speech, Chetri stated that sports bring the people together and hoped that this event will carry the ingredient of peace and harmony.
