Medziphema, April 11 (MExN): The School of Agricultural Sciences, Medziphema Campus, Nagaland University (SAS:NU) hosted an outreach program, organised and conducted by the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) on April 9. 

Parallel outreach sessions were held on Fulbright Fellowship for Doctoral students and faculty members and Higher Education in USA for UG & PG students, stated a press release received here. 

The outreach program was conducted to create awareness about the various fellowships and to help students and faculty to apply for the annual competition for Fulbright-Nehru, Fulbright-Kalam, and other Fulbright Fellowships.

USIEF will award approximately 100 Fulbright-Nehru and Fulbright-Kalam Fellowships to Indian applicants in 2025-2026 for the following categories: Student awards to pursue a master's degree or attend a US university as a visiting student researcher; Scholars and teacher awards for academics, teachers and professionals to teach or conduct research in the US; Professional development programs for university administrators and policymakers to develop leadership and specialized skills.

The resource persons were Jhulan Ghosh, USIEF, Program Manager who enlightened the faculty and PhD scholars on Fullbright Fellowships and the process of applying for the same and Meghna Roy Chatterjee, Education USA Adviser at USIEF, Kolkata who highlighted on various aspects and modalities of applying to various universities and colleges in the US for the UG & PG students. 

The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof Akali Sema, SAS:NU welcomed the team and expressed gratitude and appreciation for the outreach program. Prof L Daiho also opined that this program was an eye opener about opportunities that can be availed for serious and dedicated scholars and researchers. The program coordinator for SAS:NU campus was Prof J Longkumer, Associate Dean, Students’ Welfare.
