Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): Unity College Dimapur under the Yuvas – Young Indians Coordinators Avitav Gupta and Khekali Assumi organized two wheelers day out on June 30, to spread the awareness of road safety and driving etiquettes among college students. The college in a press release stated the ride started off from the College lawn till Shokuvi Village. Dr Lichumo, Principal and faculty members Avitav Gupta, Tonpang Walling and Yabangri Chankiri played the role of a Marshal for 30 riders. “This ride was a way to encourage students to be responsible riders, to wear helmets and to possess necessary documents like driving license and proper number plate,” the release added. Unity College is perhaps the first among all the colleges in Nagaland to maintain a ‘Helmet Zone’ Campus, where two-wheelers without helmets are not allowed to enter the campus, it added.
