DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 8 (MExN): Peren District Headquarters came alive with festive cheer as the three-day Unity Mini Hornbill Festival cum Pre-Christmas celebration concluded on December 7 at the DC Office Complex. The event was graced by Deputy Chief Minister and Minister in-charge of Planning & Transformation and National Highways, T.R. Zeliang, as the special guest, alongside NZPO President Zandi Domta as the chief host.
In his address, T.R. Zeliang commended the organizing committee for their dedication in ensuring the festival's success. He urged government officers and department staff to serve the public with renewed enthusiasm in the coming year, emphasizing the importance of unity and commitment in realizing the dream of a modern township. Linking the occasion to the spirit of Christmas, he expressed hope for peace and a brighter future for the district.
NZPO President Zandi Domta also lauded the efforts of the organizing committee and the Deputy Commissioner of Peren, whom he described as a tireless and dedicated officer working for the district's progress. He called for unity among the people of Peren to collectively advance the district's development.
The programme featured an invocation by Rev. Tongpu Singson, Pastor of KBA (N), and a welcome address by Rongmei Council Peren President Jangdiat Gonmei. A meaningful Christmas message was delivered by Fr. Dr. Francis Cheerangal, Principal of St. Xavier College, Jalukie. Entertainment highlights included a special performance by Peren Voice Impact Season 9 winner Keyicitube Nza, while prizes and certificates were distributed to winners of various competitions by the special guest and chief host.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the Convenor of the Planning Committee.
