A district level awareness and sensitization programme on the Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Scheme (UNNATI) was organised by the District Industries Center, Zunheboto, on January 9 at the DIC office. The event featured Ashuli Adakho Khrasi, Chief Manager of SBI Main Branch Zunheboto, as the resource person.

In his address, Khrasi outlined that UNNATI 2024 aims to strengthen the industrial economic system in the Northeast by attracting new investments, promoting industrial expansion, and optimizing operations for a vibrant economy. He emphasized that the scheme, which commenced on March 9, 2024, and runs until March 31, 2026, is open for beneficiary registration on a first-come, first-served basis. The primary objectives of the scheme include uplifting economically weaker sections, providing financial stimulus, and generating employment with a target to employ 83,000 unemployed youth.

Khrasi clarified that UNNATI is intended for individuals genuinely interested in starting businesses, not for the wealthy seeking government subsidies. He further emphasized the bank's requirements for beneficiaries, which include assessing real demand customers, ensuring profit sustainability, and considering market competition, pricing, and the availability of skills and raw materials. He also highlighted that a successful business begins with a strong idea, knowledge, experience, and choosing the right location.

Er N Toky Chishi, General Manager of the District Industries Center, provided a briefing on various government schemes, including PMEGP (Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme), PMFMP (Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises), CMMFI (Cluster Development of Micro and Medium Enterprises), and PM Vishwakarma, encouraging the public to explore these opportunities.

The program started with a prayer by Kiyelu, MTS, invoking God's blessings attended by various town councilors from Zunheboto, Aghunato, Satakha, Atoizu, IFAD, Sumi Hoho and concluded with an interactive session followed, allowing participants to engage with the details of the UNNATI schemes.
