DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 4 (MExN): With regard to reports that the NSCN (Khango) and Royim-led NNC (PB) signed an MoU to “work together” towards “Joint Military Defence” and “Joint political talks with the Government of India” on September 4, the UNPG NNC (PB) today clarified that Z Royim is “a President of the NNC (PB) as an organisation and that the Government of the NNC i.e, UNPG NNC (PB) stands tall and firm under the able leadership of President of the UNPG NNC (PB) S Kiviho Zhimomi and Ato Kilonser Toshi Walling with Council of Kilonsers, Army and civil wing all intact and unbothered in the strongest of terms.”
A press release from the UNPG NNC (PB) said that it is a party to the NNPGs and a signatory to the “Agreed Position” with the Government of India wherein Ato Kilonser Toshi Walling is Co-convenor of the Working Committee NNPGs.
“As such, the UNPG NNC (PB) assures that the UNPG government was, is and will be a party to NNPGs and that Z Royim was acting on his own individual behest without any sort of intimation to the President of the UNPG NNC (PB) and Ato Kilonser Toshi Walling nor approval from the Council of Kilonsers,” it added.
The press release added that the UNPG NNC (PB) “is not aware of such malicious developments harboured by anti-national elements and strongly condemns such cowardice.” “At a time when all civil societies, NGOs, NNPGs and citizens are eagerly waiting for the final inking and declaration of the Naga Solution, such developments only back tracks all the herculean achievements made thus far,” it added.
