
DIMAPUR, APRIL 26 (MExN): The United Naga People's Government (UNPG), Naga National Council (Parent-Body) Central Executive Council and the Council of Kilonsers have resolved to relieve Royim, from his duties and responsibilities as the president of the UNPG NNC (P-B) with the completion of his 2nd tenure.
According to a press statement received from the MIP, UNPG/NNC (P-B), the decision was taken at a meeting held on April 26. It stated that as per the Azha of the organization, the tenure of president is for 5 years. However, Royim was re-elected for a second term which ended in the year 2022.
In place of the outgoing president, the council appointed Kiviho Zhimomi as the new president. Zhimomi was working as the Council’s vice president.
The Council at the meeting also resolved to remain vigilant against individuals and groups that may try to create factions within the organizations using ‘nefarious schemes’ in order to gain leadership control over the organization. NNC (Parent Body) being the oldest organization for the Naga political rights cannot succumb to divisive schemes of any responsible individuals, it asserted.
The Central Executive Council and the Council of Kilonsers, UNPG/NNC (P-B) meanwhile thanked Royim for his invaluable service and sacrifices for the Naga cause. It further wished the outgoing president a good health and long life.
