Dimapur, December 5 (MExN): The United Naga People’s Government Naga National Council (Parent Body) (UNPG/NNC-PB) has refuted the “fictitious provocative and distorted statement against the UNPG/NNC-PB Government and its President” made by “Toshi Walling along with few individuals claiming to represent the UNPG/NNC-PB” in a press conference on November 25.
It was claimed that the President was a spy of another faction, and supposed to have impeached the President after conveying an emergency meeting. Also one Maj General Ghutoshe Aye claimed it has the support of 99% of the military strength, stated a press release issued by UNPG/NNC-PB MIP Secretary Kiyeka Chishi.
Refuting the statement made during the “inconsequential” press conference, the UNPG/NNC-PB said “accusing and defaming the President as a spy without any substantial proof, just waving a piece of paper in front of Media does not validate any fact.”
It also questioned the legitimacy of the general meeting that took place at Walling's residence. “How can a general meeting be held without representatives from both central and regional authorities? Clearly it was a move of a man in despair,” it stated.
It also said it wondered “if Maj General Ghutoshe is suffering from a serious disorder called Dyscalculia otherwise he would not have made such a childish claim when he himself knows that all high ranking military officers and army along with the C-in-C (Lt General Keoshu Yimkhiung) are intact with S Kiviho Zhimomi President, UNPG/NNC-PB (Co-Convener, Working Committee, NNPGs).”
Therefore, UNPG/NNC-PB “strictly warn Walling and Vito Sumi to stop taking undue advantage of print media and social media platform to spread lies and false information.” It further warned the duo to “detach themselves from using the government's name, defiance to the warning shall be at their own peril.”
