Dimapur, May 12 (MExN): The United Naga Tribes Association (UNTA) held its Executive Council meeting on May 11 at Honeybee Mission Compound, Dimapur. The meeting was attended by members from Ao, Chang, Khiamniungan, Konyak, Lotha, Phom, Sangtam, Sumi and Yimchunger communities.
A press release from the Association’s secretary, Hukavi Yepthomi informed that the executive members resolved to rename the nomenclature UNTA to UNTABA (United Naga Tribes Association of Border Areas).

The constitution of the UNTABA was also adopted unanimously. The Search Committee will complete the selection of office bearers within fifteen days from the date of the resolution, the note said.
The meeting also resolved to appeal to the Co-ordination Committee for Border Protection, Karbi Anglong (CCBP, KA) to withdraw the proposed 90 days economic blockade of the NH-36 and NH-39. It further decided to appeal to the CCBP, KA to discuss and bring about an amicable settlement between the two communities for permanent relationship between the neighboring citizens of the two states.
