Untrained teachers advised to be wary of fake degrees

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 27 (MExN): The Nagaland State Director of School Education today informed that certain antisocial elements have been luring untrained in-service teachers from Nagaland with promise of providing B.Ed and D.El.Ed certificates from universities/Institutions functioning outside Nagaland.

In this regard, the Director in a notice outlined the rules and regulation regarding the conduct of teacher training programmes prescribed by the competent authorities.

The notice informed that no State University other than Central Universities has jurisdiction to offer distance education programmes beyond the boundaries of their respective States. Further, it stated that all government employees are required to obtain prior permission from the appointing authority for pursing any course of study whether through regular mode or correspondence mode.

It reiterated that all educational and professional certificates submitted by the serving officials and new recruits are being scrutinized and verified with the concerned issuing authorities. Those submitting forged/false documents are liable to be prosecuted for criminal offence as per the rules. The Director therefore advised all concerned not to fall prey to the greed of antisocial elements.
