UP state foundation day celebrated at Raj Bhavan

KOHIMA, JANUARY 24 (MExN): The Foundation Day of the state of Uttar Pradesh (UP) was celebrated at Raj Bhavan, Kohima on January 24 with the Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan as chief guest. The event saw participation from the people of the state of UP residing in Nagaland. 

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor extended warm greetings to people of UP while stating that this celebration holds immense importance as it serves to bridge the cultural gap between Nagaland and Uttar Pradesh and foster a spirit of unity and understanding among the people of the two states. 

By celebrating the Foundation Day of Uttar Pradesh in Nagaland, the Governor apprised the gathering that they are not only honoring the history and legacy of the state, but also building connections and forming bonds that transcend geographical boundaries. 

The Governor urged everyone to embrace the spirit of camaraderie and appreciation for the cultural heritage of each state of our country. He underlined that this program is a testament to the values of tolerance, acceptance, and unity that are essential for the progress and prosperity of our nation. The Governor also congratulated all the participants and handed out certificates of appreciation to the cultural groups.

Commissioner & Secretary, S&WC and Agriculture, Sushil Kumar Patel spoke on behalf of the state of UP. He shared about the rich history and legacy of the people of UP and encouraged them to be model citizens and contribute towards nation building. Jagdamba Mall, a senior citizen from UP and a resident of Nagaland also spoke about the history of Nagaland.

Besides, the program also saw various cultural performances like Hindi poetry, various cultural songs and patriotic dances that reflected the essence of Ek Bharath Shreshtha Bharath. 

The program was conducted by Secretariat Assistant Kikasangla Aier. Joint Secretary to Governor, Mhomo Tungoe gave the welcome address and the vote of thanks was pronounced by Senior Accountant Banuo Koza.
