Dimapur, Dec 7 (MExN): The State Government is presently constructing Nagaland state guest houses in the metropolitan cities of Kolkata, New Delhi and Mumbai. This would enable proper accommodation facilities for VIPs, government officials and Naga public visiting the metros.
A nine-storied building at Salt Lake, Kolkata for accommodation of VIPs, government officials, public and students visiting Kolkata is being constructed by the state government. The structure has so far come up to the 8th floor and target of completion is November 2007. The projected estimate cost on completion is Rs 12.56 crores.
In New Delhi, the proposal for construction of staff quarters at Dwarka, New Delhi is under “active consideration” of the government, Engineer in Chief (PWD) N Chielie informed. The main idea is to provide proper accommodation for government employees posted at Delhi so that both the existing buildings at Aurangzeb Road and at PK Puram can be kept exclusively for accommodation of VIPs, government officials and other public visiting New Delhi. Also, the state guest houses at Navi, Mumbai has been finalized. The tendering process to select a competent builder is on, it was informed. The site allotted by CIDCO to the state government for this purpose is a prime site and the building is proposed to be taken up at the cost of Rs 9.94 crores. On the completion of all the above projects, it is likely that the people of Nagaland will be receiving adequate and comfortable accommodation during their visits to the mentioned metros very soon.
