Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): The new Urban Public Health Center (UPHC) building at Duncan Basti, Dimapur was inaugurated by Dr. Meguosielie Kire, Director and HOD, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare on March 17.
During the inaugural function, Dr. Meguosielie Kire appreciated the community of Duncan Bosti for their contribution and support towards completion of the UPHC building, a press note stated. He said that the concept of UPHC was to bring comprehensive health services to the public and focus on the migrant population and control spread of diseases.
He lauded the performance of UPHC all over the State and hope that UPHC Duncan Bosti will also reach the standard set by other UPHCs. He further requested the ASHAs to continue keeping track of the children and the pregnant women in the locality.
Dr. Kire urged the medical staffs to show compassion and politeness when dealing with patients. Dr. Kire emphasized the importance of timely reporting and proper documentations of all UPHC activities as they are the performance indicators of the UPHC. Lastly, he appealed to the public and the Health Committee for future co-operation and support for the smooth functioning of the Health unit.
During the function, Dr. K Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer Dimapur delivered the welcome address and short speeches were delivered by Dr. Puse, Nodal Officer, NUHM and Er. Thungbemo, Chairman, HCMC. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Yibenthung. MO i/c UPHC Duncan Bosti.
The function was chaired by Dr. Antoly Suu, Dy.CMO. The inaugural function was attended by Dr. K. Medikhru, Mission Director, NHM, Dr. Vizolie Soukhrie, Addl. Director, Dr. Tokuho Chishi, Addl. Director, Aotemsu Ozukum, State Consultant, NUHM, staff under UPHC Duncan and Burma Camp and Program Officers and Staff under CMO Dimapur.
