UPSC Service Allocation: Two IAS, one IPS and IDAS from Nagaland

Out of four candidates from Nagaland clearing the prestigious Civil Service Examination (CSE) 2022 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), two have been allotted Indian Administrative Service (IAS), while another got the Indian Police Service (IPS).

The fourth candidate has been allotted the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS), according to a notification from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on July 22. 

Out of four Yimkum I Ozukum and Vevotolu Kezo, ranked 203 and 387 respectively, have been allotted IAS, informed the DoPT’s notification on allocation of services to the recommended candidates by UPSC on the basis of CSE 2022.

Imkongnukla Ao, who was ranked 723, has been allotted IPS, one of the three All India Services constituted under Article 312 of the Constitution of India.

Meanwhile, Aotula Ozukum (874) has been allotted IDAS, a Group 'A' service under the Government of India responsible for accounting functions of the defence department, among others.

However, it was unclear whether both Yimkum and Vevotolu would be allotted as Home cadre (Nagaland).

As per a category-wise final distribution of the vacancies between Insider and Outsider to be filled in via CSE 2022 issued by the DoPT on June 20, there were total vacancies of 4 IAS officers in Nagaland.

Out of this, only one was for Insider, while the rest were for Outsider.
