A three-day long 55th Annual Tenyidie Seminar under the aegis of Ura Academy commenced today at Ura Academy Badi, Kohima under the theme “Dieu U Siepetiekeshü (Reminiscent Language).”

Ura Academy President Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu lit the candle as an act of the commencement of the seminar.

Gracing the inaugural session as the guest of honour, CD Jongeo John, vice president Tenyimi People Organization (TPO) stressed on the need to strengthen the Tenyidie language He said that Tenyidie has potential to become a common language of the Nagas. For this, he challenged the Ura Academy to put more efforts and hold a comprehensive dialogue with Tenyimi communities.

Rev Khrotso Mero, Ura Academy Chatha (Board of Directors) stressed on the need to encourage the people to write more Tenyidie book. He also suggested the setting up of Tenyidie school/college in the state.

Earlier, Dr Liezietsu released a book entitled “Themia Khunuo Kemevi” written by Kethoselie Zhale and published b y PenThrill.

The inaugural programme was chaired by Daso Paphino, Vice President, Ura Academy while welcome address was delivered by Vitshulieii Sekhose, Ura Academy Chatha. Rev Savito Nagi, president Angami Baptist Church Council invoked God’s blessings. Pesikeshü Kro-u, Thepfhe Kro-u and Peter Sono presented special numbers. Khriezosietuto Kire, pastor, CRC High School SArea Kohima pronounced benediction.

Earlier, a seminar on Mother Tongue/Local Dialects of Tenyimi communities took place wherein Dr.Shürhozelie Liezietsu exhorted the gathering. Keynote address was delivered by Dr Zavise Rume, Chairman, Tenyidie Education Division, Ura Academy. The programme was presided over by Vimedo Keyho, Secretary, Tenyidie Education Division, Ura Academy. N. Haisoi Ndang, Chairman, Zeme Literature Committee also addressed the gathering, followed by a discussion with Tenyimia tribes/sub-tribs literature boards.

TKK conclave & Ura Academy Rüpfhünuo seminar 
Meanwhile, On May 29, the Tenyidie Kephrünuoko Krotho (TKK) conclave will be held from 9:30 AM onwards. Dr Keduolhoulie Belho, Associate Professor, Kohima College, will be the speaker of the event.

Dr. Metuo Liezietsu, Controller of Examination, Ura Academy, will confer the Ura Academy Awards.

The programme will be presided over by Dzüzienuo Yhome, President, TKK. It will also witness drama, solo, story writing, essay writing and poetry writing competition among high school and higher secondary school students.

Ura Academy Rüpfhünuo seminar will be held on May 30. The seminar will be addressed by Asano Sekhose, Retired Chairperson, NBSE and Dr Hovithal Sothu, Project Director, TaFMA. The event will be presided over by Mhasivilie Zhale.

This will be followed by a “Discussion on the usage of the Tenyidie language in educational institutions”.

The panel will include Dr Petekhrienuo Sorhie, Associate Professor, Dept. of Tenyidie, NU; Vizomenuo Merlyn Yhome, Assistant Professor, KSC Jotsoma; Keneingunuo Solo, Assistant Teacher, Mezhür Hr. Sec. School, Kohima; Keneilhoulie Pienyü, Assistant Teacher, Rüzhükhrie Govt Hr Sec School, Kohima; and Dzüvisato Savino, Assistant Teacher, G. Rio School, Kohima. The session will be moderated by Dr. Rü-ünguso Kuotsu, President, Ura Academy Rüpfhünuo Krotho, and will be summed up by Kikruneinuo Liezietsu, Joint Secretary, Ura Academy. Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) and Angami Public Organization (APO) will be the guest of honour at the valedictory function.
