Urban Development Advisor urges centre to release funds

DIMAPUR, MAY 9 (MExN): Nagaland State Advisor for Urban Development, SI Jamir today appealed to the Government to India to release the funds under the 10% lump sum scheme for NER States of the Union Ministry of Urban Development against the projects submitted by the Government of Nagaland to the Ministry.  

In a meeting with the Union Minister of State for Urban Development, Rao Inderjeet Singh, Jamir mentioned that in accordance with the provisions of the scheme, various projects were vetted by the Ministry in 2016-17 but no sanction was accorded to any project.  

In view of the same, a reprioritized list of vetted projects was handed over by Jamir to the Union Minister today at the latter’s office in Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi. 

Jamir also apprised the Union Minister that the projects were in accordance with the Flagship Schemes of the Government of India and encompasses various components of Urban Development which would enhance the quality of life for the urban populace of the state.  

The Union Minister reportedly assured full support of the Centre towards expediting the sanction of the said projects at an early date.  This was informed in a press release from the Office of the Advisor, Urban Development, Nagaland.
