Kohima, August 30 (MExN): The Department of Urban Development held a retirement ceremony to honor retiring Director A Chenithung Lotha and retiring Joint Director (URIS) T Mangyang Longkumer at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Urban Development, Kohima.
Advisor for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, led the tributes to the retiring officers, commending their commitment, dedication, and hard work. "There is a time for everything under the sun," Rio remarked, highlighting the significant contributions of Lotha and Longkumer. He urged current officers to emulate their predecessors' collaborative spirit to foster positive societal change.
Commissioner and Secretary of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Kekhrievor Kevichüsa, praised the retiring officers for their transformative impact on the department, particularly noting Lotha’s problem-solving skills and positive influence. Kevichüsa expressed enthusiasm for continuing the department's progress with the incoming Director.
NPPA President Kezhochole Rhetso also honored the retiring officials, acknowledging their passion and mentorship throughout their careers.
In his farewell speech, A Chenithung Lotha expressed gratitude to the department and urged officers to pursue excellence in urban governance. T. Mangyang Longkumer, who completed 35 years of service, thanked his colleagues for their support and camaraderie, which enriched his career.
Incoming Director Solesul Tholre pledged to uphold the legacy of transparency, effective communication, and teamwork established by his predecessors. The ceremony was chaired by Joint Director Tarachu Fithu, with a vote of thanks delivered by Joint Director Petevilie Khatsu.
