Urban Oasis Super Mart was inaugurated on May 1 in Mokokchung by Chumlamo Humtsoe, ADC Mokokchung and a dedicatory prayer by Rev Ponen Longchar, Pastor of MTBA.
Urban Oasis Super Mart is a joint venture of Meyimatsung and Talimeren Tzudir and it is a first of its kind in Mokokchung. Meyi and Talimeren started working on the establishment of the mart from February. “At first we thought of setting up this mart in Dimapur but there were no spaces available and fate bought us to Mokokchung,” they said. “We want Urban Oasis to be a place where the people of Mokokchung can find items which are cheaper, a place where people can come and find solace, especially with the price,” Talimeren added.
When discussing the difficulties of opening a business in a place like Mokokchung, they added that people are skeptical and still worry for them but they are optimistic and ready to face whatever challenges. “People here in Mokokchung do not want to try new things and until and unless we explore new things we will never know. Therefore, we took the risk with the assurance that we will provide good service at low price and we are sure that it will not be a failure,” Talimeren added.
Urban Oasis Super Mart is located in Arkong ward, adjacent to Grace Hall and the store will open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
