Ursuline Franciscan Sisters of North East province held celebration of Perpetual Profession of seven Sisters and Temporary Profession of six Novices at Assisi Auditorium on April 26.

Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): The Ursuline Franciscan Sisters of North East province held the celebration of Perpetual Profession of seven Sisters and Temporary Profession of six Novices at Assisi Auditorium on April 26. 

“They willingly offered their lives for the service of God and the people by professing their vows in the presence of large gathering of priest, religious, parents, relatives, friends and well-wishers,” stated a press release received here. 

Rev Sr Benny Fernandes the Provincial Superior received their vows. Rt Rev James Thoppil the Bishop of Kohima along with 35 Priest solemnized the Eucharist to mark this occasion. He began his homily congratulating the Sisters for their decision, courage and determination to live the religious life in the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation.

“They are not professing Poverty, Chastity and obedience a conditional, functional, institutional and developmental purposes. The real motivation is for the service of the people. It is a total commitment to God and his church,” it stated.  A felicitation programme was arranged to appreciate and honor these Sisters for the step they have taken. At the end Sr Chelongle Jacinta proposed the vote of thanks that was followed by meal for all those who were gathered for the function.
