DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 9 (MExN): Gloria Berbena, Minister Counselor for Public Diplomacy at the US Embassy in New Delhi, expressed deep admiration for the impactful initiatives undertaken by YouthNet, a leading non-profit organization in Nagaland.
Her remarks came during an exclusive discussion held at YouthNet's Dimapur office on her official visit to the region.
Accompanying Berbena were Juan Clar, Deputy Director of the American Center in Kolkata, Sananda Mitra, Public Engagement Assistant, and Aniruddha Biswas, Press and Media Manager.
The delegation engaged in meaningful dialogue with YouthNet representatives, led by Centre Manager Neikepekho Shosahie, who also highlighted the organization's mission and ongoing projects. The discussions focused on exploring collaborative opportunities to strengthen ties between Nagaland and the United States, while emphasizing the shared goal of promoting inclusive values, growth and meaningful impact.
During the meeting, Berbena commended YouthNet's dedication to empowering youth and fostering socio-economic development in Nagaland. The trust and value YouthNet has earned, along with the significant contributions continue to make to society through varius ventures. Berbena also visited the Mobile Repairing Training Program, an initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), where she interacted with trainees and observed the program's hands-on approach to skill-building.
YouthNet shared insights into its diverse portfolio of projects, including YouthNet Incubation Centre, Amazon Digital Marketplace, Made in Nagaland (MiN), IBM SkillsBuild Program, YouthNet Job Centre, Nagaland Education Project - The Lighthouse, (NECTAR), Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Mobius Young Climate Leaders for Himalayan Development, Nagaland Forest Management Project, Banana Fibre Extraction projects. Through these initiatives, YouthNet continues to empower youth with the skills and resources they need to become productive and responsible members of society.
As the Minister Counselor for Public Diplomacy, Berbena reaffirmed her commitments to supporting collaborative efforts that drive innovation, capacity-building, and meaningful engagement between the United States and local communities in Nagaland.
