KIPHIRE, DECEMBER 4 (MExN): The United Sangtam Baptist Churches Association held its 76th annual council from December 2 to 4 under the theme ‘Christian Integrity’ at Sangtamtilla Baptist Lithro. 

The speakers for the program were Professor of Constructive Theology and Philosophy, Oriental Theological Seminary, Bade, Dimapur, Rev Dr Wati Aier; Women Secretary, Manipur Baptist Convention, Rev H Apila Thangal; Executive Secretary, USBLA, Rev Y Imtiba; and Associate Professor, Discipleship Bible College, Dimapur, Dr Alem.

The first night witnessed a grand inaugural programme led by Executive Secretary, Rev Y Imti. At the programme, a welcome address was delivered by Secretary, USBLA, Kiphire, Dr Apise.

On the second day of the programme, a panel session was conducted on the conference theme where Professor of Society, Christian Ethics and Contextual Theology, Oriental Theological Seminary, Dimapur, Dr Pangernungba Kechu and Academic Dean, Shalom Bible Seminary, Zubza, Dr Villo Naleo were the panelists.

In the evening service, Women Secretary, Manipur Baptist Convention, Rev H Apila Thangal spoke on the theme ‘Christian integrity in the family.’ Encouraging the congregation, Opangtula Sangtam, Joint Development Commissioner (Retd) spoke on the importance of the Churches’ role in bringing reformation, the urgency of soul-winning mission, the power of Church music and the role and responsibility of women-ministry in the Church and society.

In the Sunday worship service, Dr Wati Aier spoke on the theme ‘Christian Integrity.’ While defining the term, he said “integrity is the state of being complete.” Dr Wati stressed that “we must become Christians with integrity by inculcating the virtue of perseverance.”  

During the programme, the worship team from Sangtamtilla Youth Ministry led the congregation in praise and worship. Altogether 566 delegates attended the program.
