Kiphire, Febraury 17 (MExN): The United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) co-ordination meeting for Kiphire division was held at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall Kiphire headquarter on February 17. The meeting was attended by village head GBs, council chairmen, VDB secretaries, Sangtam political leaders, USSC, AST, ENWO representatives, ENPO representatives, GBs of Kiphire Town and former USLP Officials, a press release informed.
Addressing the gathering Longdiba L Sangtam SDO (C) Kiphire headquarter stated that the “cultural heritage and history of Sangtams has to be well protected as it will not only enlighten the present generation about one’s root but also help the next generation about its forbearers.”
Congratulating the USLP officials for leading the Sangtams he maintained that USLP as one of the most powerful organization for Sangtams plays a unique role in shaping and moulding the future of Sangtams. He called for co-ordination meeting on a regular basis where Sangtams intellectuals can gather and deliberate on important issue confronting Sangtams.
Also speaking at the meeting Setsacho Sangtam, Secretary, GBs & DBs Joint Forum Kiphire District said USLP been the gate keeper of Sangtams in every spheres of life and asked USLP to resolutely protect the welfare of Sangtams while assuring full support from the GBs.
Welcoming the gathering Seopi Sangtam, President USLP said the co-ordination meeting has been organised for better communication and interaction with the public and further informed that such kind of meeting will be held on a regular basis. The house re-affirmed full support and cooperation towards USLP.
