Dimapur, November 26 (MExN): The Ungma Senso Mongdang (USM) today submitted an ultimatum to the DC Mokokchung and alleged that there was complete security lapse whereby Dr. SC Jamir's life has been attempted on and demanded the suspension of the security officers who were responsible in detailing the Road Opening Party (ROP) for Jamir’s entourage to Dimapur on or before 30th November 2007.” Failing which the Ungma Senso Mongdang shall take its own course of action which we find deem fit”, stated S. Tia Longkumer, president, Ungma Senso Mongdang and P. Lepzuk Jamir, secretary, Ungma Senso Mongdang.
The ultimatum also noted that the NSCN (IM) had passed one 'Azha' where the underground group restricted Jamir, not to step in the Naga soil, which has been condemned by all the NGOs and other organizations as it is against established Naga customary law and usage. It also reminded that Jamir, being a bonafide Naga citizen and the son of the soil, has every right to enter his native land and that he had come to his home town. The ultimatum also stated that there was threat of his stay at Mokokchung; moreover, he has been provided Z category security by the government of India and that in spite of all these threat endangering his life, on his departure with his lady wife to Dimapur from Mokokchung on the 24th, there was complete security lapse.
