Kiphire, November 12 (MExN): The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) recently inspected the ongoing preparations for the scheduled visit of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to the Kiphire Aspirational District.

In a press statement, the student body welcomed the visit, stating it is expected to bring a “renewed focus to the developmental challenges faced by the district.”

The USSC urged the public to extend a warm welcome to the Minister and showcase the best of Kiphire’s hospitality while maintaining cleanliness and order.

The conference appreciated the efforts of the District Administration in undertaking preparatory works “despite the lack of fund allocation” for the Aspirational District. It expressed gratitude to district the administration for “filling potholes as a quick remedy.”

However, the USSC expressed “dismay” at the concerned public works department for not maintaining the circular roads of the district headquarters, despite the Minister's visit being “pre-informed.”

“It may be clarified that this is the attitude of various departments under Kiphire District where Kiphire is being placed in the bottom line index of the non-performing category,” USSC stated.

The conference appealed to the department to blacktop the circular roads “in the shortest possible time.”

The USSC assured its full support to ensure the Finance Minister's visit is a “successful and joyful event” for the district.
