USSC on free text book distribution

The issue over the distribution of free text books roared up by the Tuensang and Mon Students Federation has been a challenge of educational advancement in the State for which the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) extended its full co-operation through out the proceedings. The agitation called upon by the TMSF to press for 100% distribution of free text books was co-operatively and successfully initiated by its federating units in the entire jurisdiction covered by the D.I.S. including Kiphire and Longleng District. The phase wise agitation had been called off by the students. However, the USSC feel dissatisfied over the unequal treatment of the Students’ community under Tuensang, Mon, Kiphiri and Longleng District. While the whole of the Students under these Districts were crying for the same cause, the federations’ concerned only to the Tuensang District is comparatively misleading and will hamper the Students career. Further, the USSC questions whether the Federation has any knowledge about the situation in the rest of the six areas under D.I.S other than Tuensang. It is not the Tuensang D.I.S that acts as the channel of the four Districts because the text books have been received and issued by respective D.I.S and he cannot act unlike other D.I.S, rather it is some self- centered leaders that invite unwanted situations trying to disgrace the good office of the Students’ Federation.

Those impaired career of the Students, particularly in the Tuensang District will be held responsible by those selfish interest. Therefore, the Federations’ initiative over free text book issue concentrating only to Tuensang D.I.S is injustice and appeals all its Federating unit to come forward to re-affirm and re-strengthen its earlier demand.
