USSC repudiates dissolution of USLB

KOHIMA, DEC 2 (MExN): The United Sangtam Students Conference (USSC) has expressed shock and dismay on the declaration of the dissolution of USLB by the United Sangtam Region NSCN (IM), stating that such a declaration was ‘unconstitutional and undemocratic’ and that it had only shattered the minds of the Sangtam people in general and the student community in particular.

A release issued by Atsaba, President USSC, Hotinkyu Sangtam, Vice President USSC and L. Likhase Sangtam, asserted that the dissolution does not arise without the consent of the general public as the USLB leaders was elected by the mandate of the general public of the Sangtams.

The USSC stated that the strengthening of any community could not be achieved through dissolution but only through mutual co-operation and understanding and that the USLB was organized by the Sangtam Community and has its own responsibilities and function for any solution within its jurisdiction and should continue to work and exist as long as the Sangtam Community exist. Therefore they maintained that the dissolution of USLB by (USR) NSCN (IM) was not valid and not acceptable to the Sangtam community in general.

The USSC while repudiating such dissolution urged all the right thinking citizen of the particular tribe to raise its voice if they want to achieve peace and harmony within the community members.
