KOHIMA, APRIL 25 (MExN): Nagaland State Governor, PB Acharya has suggested that MGNREGA funds be utilised for water conservation, especially during the monsoon seasons so as to save villages from water shortage and boost agricultural activities. Echoing the call of the Prime Minister, the Governor stated that harvesting rainwater was the need of the hour and making the switch to an eco friendly rainwater harvesting system is neither complicated nor time consuming and will result in a wide range of benefits for rural areas. He also called upon the universities, NEZCC, Scouts & Guides, Red Cross, Ex Servicemen Association and other civil organisations to work with the VDBs for awareness in their respective villages.
