
Dimapur, July 13 (MExN): The Urban Vector Borne Disease Scheme (UVBDS) Dimapur observed an “Anti Dengue Month” event in collaboration with Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) on July 13 at Hotel Saramati.
Speaking on the occasion, Special Guest and Chief Medical Officer Dimapur, Dr Moatemsu Jamir highlighted the leading causes for transmission of dengue fever as well as prevention and control measures.
He also informed the council chairman federation to maintain and organise cleanliness drive cum social work, within individual compound by disposing and removing unnecessary water containers in their surroundings.
DUCCF President, Tsenthungo Nyamo also lauded the Medical Department for taking the federeation on board in various Departmental activities under the initiatives of CMO Dimapur & UVBDS Malaria.
Efficiently distribution of Long Lasting Insecticides Nets (LLINS) was also acknowledged.
As per a press release, the office of the UVBDS & DUCCF also decided to organise cleanliness drive-cum-social work, every Saturday till November 30, within own individual compounds by disposing and removing water containers, like unused/broken flower pots, tyres, crockeries, fridge, trays etc.
The two entities further resolved to fill up the ditches and other unwanted water collection sites around houses/compounds, it added.
The resolution was signed by UVBDS Assistant Director, Kikolul Khieya and DUCCF President Tsenthungo and witnessed by the CMO Dimapur.
