
Wokha, October 15 (MExN): In collaboration with Chief Veterinary Officer, Office Wokha, Ward 10 Councillor Wokha Town Council (WTC) Thungchano Kikon organised a vaccination drive and animal health campaign at Blue Hill colony which comprises of six colonies under ward 10.
The campaign was covered through the Mobile Veterinary Unit (MVU) flagship programme, stated a press release from DIPR.
The week long campaign was launched at Dr Zuben Kikon at CMO residence, Blue Hill colony Wokha town on October 9.
Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, Wokha Dr Limathung Jami highlighted on the significance of vaccination and also emphasised that animal vaccination plays a crucial role in maintaining the health and wellbeing of both dogs and pigs which ultimately prevents the animals from deathly diseases such as rabies in dogs and swine fever which can spread rapidly in pigs.
Councillor Ward-10 Thungchano Kikon highlighted that the main objective of organising this vaccination campaign is to protect the health of the individual animals as well as for the broader community, altogether 60 dogs and 58 pigs were vaccinated on the launching of the campaign.
Chairman Rachan colony Jacon Khuvung chaired the launching of the campaign. The Campaign was organised on the theme, 'Stronger Together-Vaccinate your Dogs and Pigs for a healthier community.'
