Champions of Nagaland’s first-ever Under-15 Futsal Tournament, Vandrix FC (A), edged past ASFC Changtongya 1-0 in a thrilling final held at Mojabi Futsal Turf, Salangtem Ward, Mokokchung, on July 3.

Vandrix FC (A) emerged victorious in the tournament dubbed as Nagaland’s first-ever Under-15 Futsal Tournament 2025, edging past ASFC Changtongya 1-0 in a thrilling 30-minute final held at Mojabi Futsal Turf, Salangtem Ward, Mokokchung on July 3. Organized by the Kichutip Sporting Association (KSA) under the aegis of the Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA), the tournament saw participation from 32 teams across the state.
The title-winning moment came when Sabaan of Vandrix FC (A) netted the only goal of the tightly contested final, breaking through ASFC Changtongya’s resilient defense. Despite a spirited effort, ASFC were unable to find an equalizer, and Vandrix held on to claim the championship.
As champions, Vandrix FC (A) took home a cash prize of Rs 30,000 along with certificates, while runners-up ASFC Changtongya received Rs 20,000. The two semi-finalist teams—Soyim Boys (A) and Evergreen Club—were awarded Rs 5,000 each.
Individual players were also celebrated:
• Best Goalkeeper: Lanunungkum (Vandrix FC A)
• Highest Goal Scorer: Hengoulen (Evergreen Club) – 24 goals
• Player of the Tournament: Moatemsu (ASFC Changtongya)
Each individual awardee received ₹3,000 and a certificate for their outstanding performances.
The closing ceremony was graced by Nokdier Imchen, Proprietor of M/s NI Enterprise and Class-I Contractor, Mokokchung, as the Guest of Honour. In his address, Imchen lauded the organizers for hosting a successful grassroots-level tournament and reaffirmed his support for similar initiatives.
“NI Enterprise is proud and privileged to support this initiative and remains committed to supporting such events in the future,” he said.
Reflecting on the three-day tournament, Imchen added, “We have witnessed some outstanding football and remarkable individual talents. If these young players are nurtured properly, I am confident we will see many great footballers emerge in the years to come.”
Emphasizing the role of discipline and support in sports, he remarked, “KSA has done a great job by providing a vital platform at the right time for children to develop their skills and sportsmanship.”
