TUENSANG, SEPTEMBER 27 (MExN): The Village Development Board (VDB) and Village Council Chairmen (VCC) Shamator has clarified to the news item issued by the Para Legal Volunteers (PLV) concerning poor Village Development Board implemented under BDO Shamator block that appeared in various section of dailies on September 25.
The unions in an emergency meeting on September 27, has sought clarification from the Para Legal Volunteers within seven days “in order to avoid further confusion and misunderstanding.”
According to a press release issued by president VDB & VCC Union Shamator block C Hilumong, it stated that the PLV alleged that the section 4(a) 4(b) and 7 of the Rules under Shamator RD block was not functioning. However, the union clarified that “this given section has been implemented in all villages under Shamator block.”
Therefore, the joint union urged the PLV to "clarify the non- functional villages within the stipulated timeframe."
Refuting the statement of the PLV that “some Village Development Board have not set up VDB management committee,” it clarified that “the Village Development Board Management Committee has been appointed by the Deputy Commissioner Tuensang and is functioning in all VDBs under Shamator block.”
The joint councils, has therefore, appealed the PLV Shamator HQ, to give details of particular VDBs which are not functioning under the VDB model rules.
It further stated that, the unions will cooperate with the PLV for the good cause of VDB implementation under Shamator block.
