WOKHA, MARCH 1 (MExN): The VDB Secretary Association of RD Block Changpang has condemned the recent remarks made by the Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) in their press release.
In the statement, NFHRCC referred to the MLA of 40 Bhandari A/C, Achumbemo Kikon, as a “mere MLA without a portfolio,” which the VDBSA Changpang Block deemed disrespectful and inappropriate. The Association stated that such comments undermine the respect owed to democratically elected representatives and their constituents.
The VDBSA Changpang Block expressed that the remarks from NFHRCC were ungrateful and reckless, reflecting an arrogant attitude that does not befit a major organization. It further emphasized that insulting the MLA disrespects the democratic process and the people who voted for him.
The Association acknowledged NFHRCC’s concerns regarding the quality of workmanship on the Foothills Road project but stated that the derogatory remarks had hurt the sentiments of the people of 40 Bhandari A/C. It reiterated that Achumbemo Kikon has been a dedicated leader who has worked tirelessly for the welfare of his people and deserves to be treated with respect.
It maintained that any organization that “lacks vision or harbors a leader with such a naive mentality should never be allowed to lead the Nagas but should reflect, analyze, and exercise caution before making any public or official statements.”
