Tuli, October 26 (MExN): A team of Information Education and Communication (IEC) personnel under Chief Medical office had a week long programme on Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and infotainment on vector borne disease in different blocks of Mokokchung District.
The programme was held keeping in focus that Malaria is a life-threatening blood disease caused by parasites transmitted to humans through the bite of the Anopheles mosquitoes.
A press release said that the topic for the programme included residual insecticide spraying, active and passive surveillance, medical treatment, contact and mass blood smear, LLIN etc. Concluding the programme the IEC personnel led by DMEIO Mokokchung visited Tuli block on October 24 where they had FGD and infotainment on different wards.
The participants were taught how to keep clean environment, awareness and importance of malaria, knowledge about DDT etc. The programme was attended by Village councils, woman leaders, surveillance workers, ASHAs, housewife etc.
