Vedeta Chakhesang clarifies on his expulsion story

The recent order from the desk of Mr. Khaplang expelling me from NSCN (K) which appeared in some of the local dailies, citing my indulgence in anti party activities and for conspiring against the party, accusing me of promoting disunity, confusion and mistrust among the national workers thereby creating complete chaos within Chakhesang region has been fabricated and holds no truth whatsoever.

I had visited Khaplang at his base from the14th of April to 8th of May 2013. There, I realised that the much talked about agreement between the NSCN (K) and the government of Myanmar which professed to benefitting the on-going Naga political struggle was farce. The agreement had nothing to do with cease-fire between the Khaplang group and the Myanmar government. This agreement in fact was a political settlement. A special package offered by the government of Myanmar to the Khaplang group, where roads, schools and hospitals would be built.

Realising that, the Khaplang group was satisfied with the special package and the Naga political issue being forgotten and our struggle coming to a dead-end, I decided to leave the group and joined the GPRN/NSCN, which I believe is the right government that has the right vision for the Nagas of Nagaland on the 19th of May, 2013 along with Eight other members.

In all my time as a member of the Khaplang group, I have never come across any party discipline, leave alone the Article 4 of section ‘C’ according to which I was expelled.

The expulsion order drafted after my leaving them out of my own will is questionable. These kinds of tactics often used by the state politics functionaries should be done and away with. It not only misleads but confuses the people too.
